For spectral ellipsometers are compensators the biggest error source. Spectral ellipsometers without compensator do not have this error source, but they cannot decide between right and left handed waves. With help of this simulation help it is possible to create a continuous ellipticity curve without compensator, so that the features right or left handed can be found simply by plausibility.
